The Aquatic World

Bolton Aquarium is one of the oldest Public Aquaria in the UK, and has been a popular attraction for the Public since it opened in January 1941.

There are now over three generations of people from Bolton and beyond who remember the Aquarium as a part of their childhood, and are now bringing their own children or even grandchildren to learn more about the world of life under water.

Whether for families, tired shoppers or people looking for some quiet relaxation we hope to satisfy all our visitors, and we welcome students of all levels to make use of the facilities here for study and inspiration.
